Hi,

Wouldnt a chat room be a novel idea.

Maybe directory owners could get to know each other a bit better via a live chat medium ?

I kind of like the idea, but I recommend something like a trial period. I have seen chat rooms work and others turn into total disaster. Long as we keep the trolls out, it should be good!

I think it would be a great idea, namepros has a chat room, full all day and night, can really talk about anything, and always someone to help withsomething, you need some help with php, always someone knows, need a custom logo, always someone offering services.

Can this also be done via Yahoo! Messenger or some other program so it doesn't eat bandwidth? We could designate talk sesssions, auctions, etc. I'd consider doing it, have to look it up.

It would be cool if something could be implemented to allow communication with an external protocol such as a plugin for Trillian that would allow two-way communication between the web site and Trillian. That way, those who do not have Trillian could come here and chat via the web interface, or those who don't want to give out their info to every user, but still take advantage of the communication can do so through Trillian. That would be pretty cool.

That Trillian looks good Chris, MSN messenger would work too, maybe you could make it that you need a certain "pagerank" before you get access to the chat room, which would give a major incentive for people to post and make it difficult for people who are not interested to gain access.

Real Chat is expensive! Will have to wait on getting that if that turns out to be the best option.

What's wrong with Yahoo.MSN.AOL messengers....Click on the icon next to the avatar and you'll be chatting in seconds...Geez some people just want to complicate things.....btw...it has groupchat feature.

Well, Apparently this Chat Room can be added and setup in such a way that access can be granted to users with so many posts.
