Default Shoemoney Extortion, False?

I was browsing DigitalPoint and happened to click on one of the member's websites, EveryQuery, and began looking around their directory.

I noticed they had a blog, so I clicked, and I came upon a very interesting post about the latest fuss over Shoemoney's blog being taken out of DMOZ.

According to EveryQuery:
Quote:
It appears that Shoemoney was not honest in his post about being extorted by a corrupt DMOZ editor, or at the very least, he wasn’t telling the whole story.
A DMOZ editor took this picture:

Here is a live link to Shoemoney’s bribe attempt in 2005. He clearly is soliciting corrupt DMOZ editors to list one of his websites. He offers $1,000. If he was, in fact, contacted by an editor offering to list him for a large sum of money (who knows if that was really true), then he brought it on himself making posts like the one above.
You can read more here. This is a big twist on such a hot disputed topic.

i always wondered what the fuss was about. DMOZ is pretty much an over-rated QBC loving site.

Its free to submit but will cost you $x,xxx to get listed....

I've only taken the time to submit 1 site, which was of the highest quality, and it was never listed.

Figures.

Wow. Looks like I had the "scoop" on Shoemoney. LOL. Funny thing is....I posted a story about what Shoemoney claimed, and TWO different DMOZ editors emailed within minutes of posting it. One gave me the screenshot. The other gave me the lowdown on that editor that claimed he was banned for no reason.

Yeah, It was quite good to see some good coming out of DMOZ, even if they accepted that bribe, that an editor found that initial post by Shoemoney and acted on it to prevent him from being listed.

If it's true of that bribe, what a sick link baiting scheme.
