Hi,

Today, after we had completed a training session with our new link team, one of the senior trainees informed them that we would be having a debate on the topic "Link or Content - Which is the boss?"

As we all know and have been hearing that content is the king and link is the secondary aspect as regards to SEO, what would you guys opine on this subject in the modern SEO era. Would you go only with quality content or would you concentrate mainly on link building.

Link building is a hard and tedious job, but content is even a harder job. So I would assume that most people will concentrate on link building ..

A steady supply of quality content is often rewarded with some links, but a steady supply of links never results in quality content miraculously adding itself.

That is so true! Content should be your first priority. No sense in having all kinds of backlinks driving traffic to your site when you do not have enough content to so they immediately exit your site and never come back. Build your site content then worry about getting backlinks.

I think both are needed for a website promotion. Links are needed to promote your site, and good content helps in making person stay and convince him about your product and service.
