Actually ... Search engines could care less as long as your site renders properly and the links work correctly. People in the industry tend to attach to much importance to the mechanics. You have to remember the vast majority of web sites are run by people who are really computer illiterate. There is no search engine benefit to using one language over another or choosing a particular standard.
