My support will go for phpld, since it is very easy to use and modify both the general and admin section.
Site-sift is also a good directory script

I prefer wordpress for my bidding directories now

For general directories, currently I only using phpld, but might try indexU and site-sift in the future

I think, phpLD is the better than any other scripts.

I'd have to try them all before giving an honest opinion.

I think that in the next 3 years this list will be expanded by 5 new ones, 3 or 4 of which being in the top 5 spots.

I tried indexu for one of my directories and was very pleased at the begining but I have now run into a very serious support/trust problem and at the moment I am waiting for a refund for additional licenses I purchased.

I will be writing an article or series of articles detailing my experiences shortly. All I can say right now is that the script shows promise but the business mangement/support is not up to par.

I like Esyndicat but I am really impressed with phpld's 3rd party support. phpMyDirectory.com - PHP/mySQL Business Directory Script - PHP/mySQL Yellow Pages Script - PHP Directory Project is missing as a choice, it is a very powerful script.

I am using PhpLinkDirectory for about a year now. This script I like. However, another good looking script is PhpLynx and it just came out of beta.
