Here are some tips of mine.
1) Build backlinks slowly (don't rush at once)
2) Put some unique content
3) Announce (forums, blogs, other sites you have)
4) Start building backlinks and put unique content.

That was a very short info of my promotion technique. But remember different people have different techniques. Hope this is gonna help you
