Same as Mike, I see no drama's with it although maybe if your new or have lower visitor rate then it may be more prudent to keep it in house.
Regardless of shown or not, moving forward i will be asking any site that i wish to advertise on for these figures. This will enable me to establish if the fee being asked is reasonable or not and from that make better business decisions.
People who pay big $ for low impact / return from advertising in comparison to other options should also be requesting this information.
From memory Zyas was including a widget for VR ? but i am not sure if this is running yet as i know he has other stuff on his plate of late.
To give an example i can get say 1000 plus views a day by sponsoring a forum i know for around 1K / YR which on maths gives me 365K views
$1000 / 365 K views = .003c PV on a target market, when you way that up with say ( wild guess )
3000 views PM at a cost of say $100 PM you get
$100 / 3 K = .03 PV this represents a 10 fold in price for my money, and the sums are easy for all to do
What must be pointed out is also the target audience, it is no good having a cheap PV if that site is say a dog food site and your selling kites, your just wasting your money, so compare apples with apples.
There are also exceptions to the rule ( for me any way ) where a site may be a little higher P than i want but the target audience is in my sweet spot ( the main factor ) so i would pay more for this.
Lastly keeping records of hits / conversions would also help with further advertising campaigns, but ad content / display also play a part.
For example this site up the top 3 spots, very sweet and exactly where i would want to park my ad ( and no i am not part of the site )
Sorry if it seems to go off topic a little but traffic is 100% important in the above and related to anyone wanting to promote their site. |
