Just hoping to open up some discussion on this because frankly I am torn.
I agree that it is good to be open with traffic to a point, but what point?
I do not see any of the very well known directories such as JoeAnt, Business.com, Aviva or Skaffe posting their traffic data. In fact in
one post a member of JoeAnt said they never would release specific traffic data.
Earlier this month I decided to post my traffic for February on site and my traffic that day promptly dropped. I deleted that post and it came back the next day higher than it was previously but it set my paranoia

bells to ringing.
So the question is it bad business to post your traffic stats with any kind of specifics as has been suggested? After all it is a competitive market.
Is it bad luck to openly post or tell anyone your traffic with any specifics as my paranoia

bell keeps chiming? Maybe there are search engines watching....
Or lastly is it better just to not have to put up with all the people who then want to say that the traffic is purchased or some such nonsense because they don't want to believe it anyway. This is the one that frankly irritates me the most.
EDIT : I guess there is one other option - To forget about all the above and allow for all the third party traffic tracking scripts to be placed on site to give completely open access to traffic data.
