Link renewal mod can be customized to apply for specific listing types. For AD it applies to all listings as they are annual. It will track the submitted date and the expire date for each listing and send out email notifications at 5 and 3 days left with a convenient link for the owner to renew the listing. Basically.
It is a more professional way of handling renewals for annual listings I think. I don't really like the subscription option too much.
plus if you look in the footer there is an expired info link that will show you the links that are soon to be expiring and those that have recently expired.
It probably does more that dargre would have to explain. I just know that it makes the whole process for renewals very easy to track. Also lets me know what listings need to have annual reviews done.
