Even though the accuracy of alexa rank can be debated all day, when it comes down to it, does it really matter for submissions or advertising?

For instance on Talk Directories:

Our Alexa rank 2 weeks ago was 1,700,000+.

Now, it's 230,276 with a daily Alexa rank of around 20,000-60,000.

Every day, we get new signups and more traffic which inevitably means good things to come in terms of growth and advertising revenue.

Does this hold true for your sites/directories?
