There is no need to shell out $1,000 per link. If you think about it, that’s a bad decision in itself as you can be building more quality links in the meantime instead of investing heavily in 1 place. Do it in moderation and over time your rank will increase. |
I still don't understand why people consider these listings expensive ....
It is all about ROI
Look at the latest numbers we have for
Big Web Links Directory - Bid for Position Permanent Directory
Alexa = 24236 Yahoo inlinks = 895782
What if I believe that BWL is generating their own traffic on the order of 5000+ visitors per day or 150,000 per month?
At this rate, if I invest $1000 the CPM is $6.60 or a little over a half cent per impression ... or view.

Assuming the link was deleted at the end of one month.
Of course we all know that bid directories are permanent links, so even if you are outbid referrals will NEVER drop to zero as long as the directory is active. However to make calculations easier lets assume it is completely removed at the end of the calculation. |
On one site I make an average of $1 for each visitor ... if on average only 33 of these visitors per day click through for that one month (CPC=$1.00) I stand to break even. That is only 0.66% or about 1.3 visitors per 200 impressions.
Again this assumes the link was deleted at the end of one month.
The longer my links lasts the lower my cost ... at three months I only need 11 clicks per day (CPM=$0.0022/CPC=$0.333) and at 6 months only 5 per day (CPM=$0.0011/CPC=$0.166) to break even.
If all you want is a LINK then bid in moderation. If you want TRAFFIC be selective and be decisive ... bid high and mean it.
By the way these links are immune to click fraud ... unlike CPC ads.
